Monday
  • Understand observation using the five senses.
  • Given an object, substance, or event, be able to construct a list of qualitative and quantitative observations about an object, substance, or event.
  • Understand inferences are conclusions or deductions based on observations.
  • Share observations and inferences.
  • Make observation of basketball passes.

Assignment:  3 obs/1 inference due (6). Observations/inference (7).

 
Tuesday
  • Understand observation using the five senses.

Wednesday
  • Explain the importance of the International System of Units, and give four examples of SI units. 
  • Review the history of the metric system.

Assignment: International System of Units Brainstorming (9).  5 labels demonstrating SI units. 

 
Thursday
  • Explain the importance of the International System of Units, and give four examples of SI units.
  • Review the history of the metric system.
  • Review the base units of the metric system.
  • Understand the simplicity of converting metric units using a "metric ladder".
  • Practice conversion of metric units.

Assignment:  Glue labels into notebook (10).  International System of Units Presentation and Notes (8). 

 
Friday
  • Research the history of similar experiments or inventions.
  • Research definitions of all important words and concepts that describe science project.
  • Answer all background research plan questions.

Assignment:   Background Research Plan.  Research for science fair project.
