             chemical changes.

8.E.1.5. Students are able to explain the impact of weathering and erosion on the Earth.

Monday
bulletInterpret data from the periodic table.
bulletUse atomic number and atomic mass to describe the structure of an atom.
bulletDetermine the number of protons, neutrons, and electrons for each element.
bulletIdentify basic subatomic particles-protons, neutrons, and electrons-that make up an atom.
bulletRecognize that atoms have a numeric relationship in the periodic table.
bulletUnderstand the connection between energy levels and valence electrons to the shape of periodic table.
bulletLearn the vocabulary that corresponds with matter.

Assignment:  Review Periodic Table Basics.  Purple Words.  Match definitions to correct vocabulary word in notebook.  Draw picture to match vocabulary word - due Thursday.

Describe how water, acids, and air cause chemical weathering of rocks.

Assignment:  Introduction and Bibliography due.  Read/OL 278-283. Outline Help. Take 6 pictures of weathering around your home.  Get one baggy of soil.
