Monday

  • Notebook set-up.
  • Classroom procedures - clock partners.
  • Observation and inference brainstorming.

Assignment:  Clock Partners (inside front cover).  Project proposal and plan.  What is an observation and inference (11)?

Tuesday
  • Understand observation using the five senses.
  • Given an object, substance, or event, be able to construct a list of qualitative and quantitative observations about an object, substance, or event.
  • Understand inferences are conclusions or deductions based on observations.

Assignment:  Observation/Inference presentation.  Qualitative and Quantitative observation T-Chart (12).  Qualitative and Quantitative observations Quiz (13).

Wednesday
  • Explain the importance of the International System of Units, and give four examples of SI units.
  • Practice measuring using metric units - centimeters and millimeters.
  • Review the history of the metric system.

Assignment: International System of Units Presentation and Notes (14). 

Thursday
  • Explain the importance of the International System of Units, and give four examples of SI units.
  • Practice measuring using metric units - centimeters and millimeters.
  • Review the history of the metric system.

Assignment: International System of Units Presentation, ladder method, and Notes (14).
