  • Use a model to better understand a natural process that cannot be observed directly.

Assignment:  Construct Pangaea out of paper. Read/OL pgs. C44-C48.

Wednesday
  • Discover that the Earth is made up of four layers.
  • Know that Earth's crust and upper mantle make up a solid rocky layer called the lithosphere.
  • Recognize that tectonic plate are made of huge slabs of lithosphere.
  • Compare each layer of Earth.

  • Know that the part of the mantle below the lithosphere behaves like a liquid.
